Pirate Assets Pack

Now that Christmas is over I've noticed that I've been getting bored sitting around at home just browsing the internet and playing games. I haven't really been working on anything productive and since uni will be starting up soon I thought to myself maybe now would be a great time to start a new project and get me back into the rhythm of things.

A lot of the projects I've done in the past had no real release date they were more about improving and learning new skills. So i thought this time i want to make something that i could sell or even just release to the public and get my work out there and promoting myself. Also this would give me a deadline that i can work towards and allow me to become better organised. The projects that I've done in the past are usually documented later or not at all. So for this project i plan to blog about my work once a week bringing updates on my progress and other things that happen during the week. I think this will be good because then maybe i can start to get a following and better publicize my work and potentially get some sales.

To fit what i want to get out of this project at the end, I've decided that i should create 3D assets packs and Texture packs for people to uses in there own projects. I think it will be a good idea as my main skills lie in 3D modelling and texturing so this should work to my strengths. Now all that's left is to decide what kinds of packs i should make.


I know that people usually make games with a theme in mind so if i create packs based on common and interesting themes that people might base there games on then i could get got good sales. I looked at games that have been really popular lately to get some direction on what pack i should start with. I've decided to go with a Pirate Theme to start with.

Recently I've been watching the anime series One Piece and Assassins Creed 4 lets plays.They are both very popular and I've noticed that pirates have been getting more and more popular.With first being the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and now One Piece's and the unique adventures told through out the series,  myself have found tertiary really getting into the whole pirates style  adventures of freedom. So i think a Pirate Pack would be really cool tom create, theirs room for creativity and i think ill enjoy this project too.
